>> Well, we've been enjoying some great weather here.

I'll say we have! We just got back from 5 days in Algonquin. Amazing weather. High 20's, not a cloud in the sky, not a breath of wind, and NO BUGS.

The forecast looked so good last Wednesday that I called Swift and they provided a brand spanking new loaner Kevlar Kipawa for us to paddle until ours is ready. We left Thursday and got back last night. Paddled from Opeongo up to Merchant Lake. Spent a couple of nights there on a site with a long shallow beach. Even got to walk along the beach in the water since the sun had warmed up the shallow water a bit. We also paddled Hailstorm Creek, saw moose and all kinds of nesting birds and ducks. I'll have to check my books to find the names of what we saw. We were also treated to beautiful sunsets, a full moon and a symphony of loons every night. It doesn't get any better than this!

THe Kevlar is soooo much lighter than me fibreglass. I'd say it weighs 20lbs less. I hope those people on the 2.2km portage didn't mind my roadrunner imitation (just kidding). We didn't have much in the way of waves except for a little bit the first evening but the canoe seems to handle very well and is both stable and manouverable.

Got to go clean up the car and canoe and do some stuff outside. Everythings been growing while we've been gone.

Stuart.
