Called Chemtrak today to speak with Alene Holzman. She wasn't in yet so I was put through to Ed Covell's voice mail. Well, he returned my call in about 10 minutes. I was impressed just for the return call. Anyway, the call was short, but I did find out a few items of interest:

- CLIA waiver was submitted to the CDC and CMTR is awaiting approval;
- The milestone payment from Astra-Merck for the latest FDA approval
of the improved H.Pylori test will be applied to the 1st quarter
1997;
- A milestone payment from Selfcare for the announced licensing
deal will be applied to the 1st quarter 1997;
- Revenue from the H.Pylori test could possibly start coming in
at the tail end of the 1st quarter;
- The company is awaiting the final artwork (from Astra-Merck) for the
packaging of Hp Chek;
- Down the road, Chemtrak's internet presence will be expanded to include
internet commerce for all their products;

I asked about obtaining information on their manufacturing facilities, but unfortunately they don't have anything in hard copy they could mail. Mr. Covell did tell me that manufacturing is all done at their location with the exception of the printed boxes. They have a dry room (5% humidity) for part the chemistry part of the Accumeter production. I expect that if we want to get detailed information about their set up, one of us will have to pay them a visit. Mr. Covell sounded very accomodating in that respect as well. Said to stop by if I'm ever in Sunnyvale. Since Sunnyvale is about 3000 miles away, I don't think I'll be stopping in anytime soon. If anyone who follows this thread lives anywhere near Chemtrak, how about taking them up on the offer and pay a visit. Take good notes and fill us all in.

Gotta go... Bill
