Sergio,

For what it's worth, here in the Phoenix area, I get my internet connecion from Speedchoice which is a People's Choice TV company. This is a high-speed wireless connection for the downstream side, but still requires a modem and phone line for the upstream side. Downloads are great at about 200K bytes per second.

They are working on a complete wireless connection but seem to be having some problems with the upstream side. One of my neighbors works for the company and had both of us put on the "beta" program for the wireless upstream last December. It was planned for March and now has been pushed back till "fall"... I also recently received a notice that soon I will be able to receive digital "cable TV" using the same antenna.

The Sprint plan does seem to be a very promising technology, but it may be some time before it becomes "real". Having to rely on the local phone company for the upstream is a major hassle.
