Jill, no need to apologize, took me a while to figure it out too! Never worked with Level II, ain't it COOOOOOL!!! Basically, the different colors simply separate the groups of bid and ask prices for ease of viewing. The streaming numbers on the left are the Bid prices and letters refer to the brokerage houses and MM's , while the numbers indicate how many shares they are willing to buy, I believe the number is either in 10's or 100's of shares, not really sure. The numbers in the black area on the right are the actual trades with volume (I think this is the actual number of shares traded at that price). The numbers in the gray are are the last trade; the day's High and Low. Hope you enjoy. I don't know how long it will be free (perhaps always?!), but I think if they ever decide to charge and I can get more than one screen at a time, I'm very likely to sign up. Hope this helps, regards and aloha.
