RDM - RE: "I look at the SpecFp benchmarks and they suggest that for Alphas with large L2 caches there is more than a 3X FPU advantage obtainable in comparison with the Xeon and Pentium III CPUS tested."

Then what is the point of a Xeon with only 256KB L2 cache???

Wouldn't a 550MHz Xeon w/2MB L2 cache be faster than a 600MHz Xeon w/256KB L2 cache in some applications(/servers)?

Paul, you can answer those.
