T wins more if they lose. As much as you wouldn't like to believe it, monopoly never works in the long run interests of the monopolizer This I agree with. However I'm not convinced that T would be creating the kind of monopoly "that induces inability to change with changing external forces", regardless of what regulators may think. T even if they won it all: Absorbed UMG and created a merger with RR they would still have very real competition for everything but cable TV service, which of course they have never had. There are many forms of BB access connection over HFC cable being only one and a moderately limiting one to boot. POTS is still a very viable competitor too. Sun makes most of the servers that run the internet. Does that make them a monopoly? Eric
