One is WDM which will allow the existing fiber cable capability to increase the information rate [change out an amp?]. The second is utilizing more frequency space from the existing 750mhz which would reduce analog tv channel transmission count but increase IP data rates. Given that digital cable is in the works, increasing the number of channels in a given frequency band, adding IP at the cost of frequency space may be realistic.
