<<There are several good reasons in my opinion why MD would consider a combination with IBM:>>

TCB: Interesting comments. Yet, I believe MSD is commited to keeping DELL independent. I heard him discuss this last fall in Chicago. We still may learn about an expanded alliance / partnership between DELL and IBM. Think in terms of VIRTUAL INTEGRATION. MSD does NOT want IBM's overhead and cost structure. I'm sure he is VERY interested in access to their R & D, storage technology, and Global Services organization. Read MSD's new book and you will learn about his passion for partnerships. I don't expect DELL to merge/sell anytime soon. In fact we will see the day when DELL will have a market cap. well in excess of IBMs. DELL has the business model, the team, the culture, and the focus to generate SIGNIFICANT growth for years to come.

Best Regards,

Scott
