In fact Microsoft's announcement of ActiveX availability on Unix will
end up hurting NT! The so called brilliant investment minds of the
stree (Wall street that is!) dont have the slightest idea what technically
ActiveX controls are and what they can do. All they see is that this
is a compettitor to the JavaBeans model and therefore now that
ActiveX will be available on Unix JavaBeans will die and therefore
Sun will be hurt! WRONG! WRONG! As I have said before Sun is not
into software, does not care about it much, and is not planning to
make money from Java! Sun is using Java as a tool to boost its
hardware, and thats it! With ActiveX available on Unix, Sun's servers,
workstations and eventually NCs will be in demand like air is to human
beings! Only time will tell (and not too long from now) how we (or at
least I) wished to have more money to buy SUNW at these prices.
