By ASTN's recent public comments, they have 60+ institutions signed up for the system, and 300 of the most liquid issues approved for the system. I recall that they have a goal of having over 2700 issues to be approved for use with the system by years end.

As for the institutions position on anonymous ATS, you may want to see comments made to the SEC on the issue when the SEC suggested requiring full disclosure, before anonymous trading was approved:
