In a nutshell, here is why I like RhythmsNet:

rhythms.net

In addition, terms of the agreement call for MCI WorldCom to purchase 100,000 lines of DSL-based services from Rhythms. As Rhythms interconnects its high-performance network in each metropolitan area and nationwide, MCI World Com will be its preferred provider of Metro and Wide Area Network (MAN and WAN) capacity.

Basically, what Rhythms is going to be involved in is Wcom's committment to AOL to provide DSL service to it's customer under the AOL brand name. This doesn't mean that they will get all of it, but they will get a chunk.
