Evening update for new crop corn traders...

A fairly potent band of showers / T-storms is currently making its way through W-Ill at the moment.. short term local forecasts for that region call for a period of moderate to heavy rain tonight. The system will move into W-Indiana by about 4am CT then on towards Ohio... Another round of showers still predicted for the belt tomorrow afternoon / evening with totals nearing 1" in spots.

Corn planters were likely active today, but tomorrow may be another story as fields will again be pretty wet. Next chance to roll will be the weekend, but word is that next week may be much like this one with another mid-week system moving through.

CZ9 now trading on Proj-A at 234 1/2 (down 3/4). My guess is that we will see a positive day tomorrow especially if the rain really materializes in the belt.

With potential planting delays in corn, watch for bean crops to grow as we're getting real close to the May 10 critical date where yields begin to reduce. Possible short beans may not be a bad idea.

Regards and good luck trading,
Mike

As a side-note.. as you can see I am very much a trader who relies on the weather as one of my decision makers and do post my thoughts on the thread. I am curious how many of the other readers use weather in their decisions and if you find my notes and comments of use and interest.

Thanks again,
Mike
