I dont want to turn this board into a chat room, but I have to tell you a very funny story regarding the IRS (we all love funny IRS stories!)

Back in the '70's I worked for a CEO in the Aircraft industry. The man was worth many millions of $$ but you never would have known it based on his attitude and/or dress...he was that kind of down to earth, never forgot where he came from kind of guy (the type of person you REALLY LOVE to work for).

Anyway, one day the IRS decided they were gonna audit us and DAN took it personally! He was as honest as the day is long and took it as an attack on his personal veracity. Well, let me tell you, you just dont do that to Dan and get away with it unscathed!
First, he INSISTED that the auditor not return to his office unless he was wearing jeans (he didnt trust the suit and tie type).
The auditor brought his supervisor with him the next day but due to Dan's insistence they both showed up the following day wearing jeans!
It got worse from there...he put them both in a room where he could turn up the heat until it was unbearable for both of them and proceeded to scream at them, how they could question his honesty (of course he had all his records in order).

The outcome: he was completely exonerated. (Unfortunately, I later learned the auditor had resigned his position due to Dan's tirade) It is, however, hard for me to feel sorry for him.

...just thought anyone who's been audited might like to hear this story.
