MIAMI, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Costa Rica International Inc announced today that the company will amend certain reports filed by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission and release revised financial data as soon as it becomes available. The company believes that its previously released financial statements overstated the company's assets by between US $20 million and US $25 million as a result of errors in for the acquisition by the company of 60% of the capital stock of Corporacion Pipasa in August, 1996. The company's management believes, based on the information currently available to it, that the restatment of the company's assets in revised financial statements will not have a material effect on the company's revenues or earnings for its fiscal year ended September 30, 1996 or the most recent fiscal quarter ended December 31, 1996.
