I've finished investigating and none too soon given they managed to find the worst of all worlds solution. Take 2M of UMG's customers. What? Never underestimate the power of poor judgement and a complete lack of business acumen among the so-called magnates of this era. They manage to find the unique way that will cause the most problems for them going forward.

Comcast will come out of the swapping arrangement with a net gain of 750,000 cable subscribers, for which it will pay AT&T $4,500 per subscriber, a total of $3 billion to $3.5 billion. Comcast also agreed to offer AT&T telephone services to its cable customers.

Comcast also has an option to purchase some additional cable systems, with a total of about 1.25 million cable customers for about $5.7 billion. Comcast can pay for the subscribers in a number of ways, including with AT&T stock it owns or acquires, the companies said. The deal, however, hinges on Comcast stepping aside and allowing AT&T to close on its acquisition of cable operator MediaOne for some $54 billion in cash and stock.

They better hope someone else doesn't come in and make an offer. If T losses, what does T give Comcast then?
