Taxman, Unfortunately your quotation of Isa 43:10 is from a mistranslation which substitutes capitalized LORD [Hebrew: Adonai] for Jehovah. Jehovah is the normal English translation of the 4 character Hebrew tetragrammaton, Yohdh He Wah He, = YHWH or YHVH. This Name, correctly translated, occurs 6,728 times in the ASV of 1901.
It was expunged by the RSV and NIV translators among others, and in the KJV is found only 4 times: Ex 6:3, Isa 12:2 & 26:4 and: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth Ps 83:18 To remove Jehovah's holy Name from his own book is a wicked heresy of which brings His disfavor, the first petition of the Lords Prayer is: Hallowed be thy Name
Pour out your wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name Ps 79:6 If we have forgotten the name of our God, Or spread forth our hands to a strange god; Will not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart Ps 44:20
Then they that feared Jehovah spake one with another; and Jehovah hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him, for them that feared Jehovah, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith Jehovah of hosts, even mine own possession Malachi 3:16-17
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? That think to cause my people to forget my name Jer 23:27 The Catholic Jerusalem Bible and Rotherham's use Yahweh, Byington's and the New World Translation faithfully render the tetragrammaton Jehovah. Since God's personal Name occurs more times in the Bible than any other can we please Him if we hide it? If you want a NWT or ASV I'll get one for you, as will the next JW who comes to your door.
Best wishes, it was a pleasure to see you use Psalm 83:18.
