George:
I think that Wal-Mart has dropped recently for a few reasons. First
and foremost would be profit taking. Alot of people have made a ton of money on this stock. In my case, I considered selling half since the stock is up four times what I paid and with the split, I could end up with "free" shares.

Also, Wal-Mart isn't a particularily sexy stock in today's market. Many stock investors have opted to go for the quick kill buy shares of companies like Amazon, Infoseek, AOL, ect.

But over time, if you believe that history holds any key to the future, the investor who researchs and finds well managed, well positioned companies like Wal-Mart need only be patient. Try to ignore the daily ups and downs and take a longterm outlook. Wal-Mart so dominates its business that I cannot imagine too much downward risk over time.

Good luck to you and I'll be looking forward to your posts on this thread.
