Bill:
FSN has an EXCLUSIVE. That means no TBS or WGN. However, I believe we are now in Chicago and are being used by FSN in that market.
On the "convergence" front, I don't know if this answers the question, but I bought this new card for my computer called "winTV". It allows you to actually plug your cable from the wall into your computer and watch TV on your PC. It's very cool. You can move and resize your screen. You can freeze a frame and print it, save it. You can do the same with video clips. Next game I get I'm going to "tape" a few supervision clips and e-mail to everyone I can think of. Anyway, part of the winTV thing is somthing called "Intercast". I'm still learning how to use it, but the basics are, from the user book (OK, I read the instructions, I'm sorry. I know this goes against being a man, but I couldn't help it) Anyway, : "Intel INtercast tech. is a dynamic digital medium that merges television broadcasts with the Internet's World Wide Web. With the Intel Intercast technology, broadcasters can combine the television signal with web data that includes information such as details about current broadcast, links to other web pages, or advertising..... HTML-formatted pages, the same kind you find on the Internet's World Wide Web, accompany the broadcast programs. These pages, filled with text and colorful graphics, provide more information about programs you watch...... The Television station incorporates all three components of Intercast content (television program, accompanying web page, and real time information) into a single signal. The broadcast site transmits the signal just like your regular television program, via transmission tower, cable or satellite."
I believe this is what convergence is... TV and the Net combined. |
