wouldn't AT&T have used Windows anyway - without any inducemnt from MSFT? No. They were far more likely to be OS agnostic on their settop boxes, letting them run either CE or Java or any kind of embedded OS. I never doubted that they'd support CE as one of many, but I didn't expect them to settle on one supplier as Microsoft will, apparently, become with this deal. Teflon predicted it would happen just like this, however.
