Network World Magazine Names e.spire to Top-10 'Fastest Growing Companies' On Annual Network World 200 List
ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- e.spire Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: ESPI - news) has been named for a second year to the top-10 ''fastest growing companies on the Network World 200'' ranking of U.S. network companies, published annually by Network World magazine, the newsweekly of enterprise network computing.
e.spire won the ranking in Network World's list of ''Hot Growth Companies'' by demonstrating a revenue increase of 166% to $157 million for 1998, up from $59 million in 1997, and by surpassing the
performance of other network companies, including Internet, cellular, software, competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and other industry leaders.
Last year, e.spire won the number-one position in the annual Network World ranking by demonstrating the greatest revenue acceleration of any network player for 1997.
