Apparently the law in Colorado states that a person over 18 can legally supply or give a long gun (rifle or shotgun) to someone under that age. This would seem to be covering a parent or guardian giving a long gun to their child, however it will protect the young girlfriend of one of the killers from legal responsibility instead. Now this would be a good law to amend. Why would you want your child to have a long gun that you did not give them or even know about?. It would be better to only allow the parent or legal guardian the ability to supply the gun under this law. In the meantime in Calif they are trying once again to get a "feel good" law passed that says you can't buy more than one gun per month. I can't imagine what good a law like this would do, except to be an inroad to law-abiding citizen's rights to purchase a firearm. It of course will be business as usual in the sale of "illegal arms" Hey, why not make it a law that you cannot buy more than one "illegal gun" per month, make the penalty 20 years and actually enforce and prosecute the perpetrators.
