Re: Arris / Cornerstone / NT / Bay Networks / LanCity / ANTC / TCI etc.

DenverTechie and Mike Doyle,
The relationships are very complicated and go further than most know about. That is exactly what our posts spelled out months and months ago. I just can't find it. I wish I could because I summarized it all in detail.

Anyhow, recently NT upped it's position in Arris by giving Arris their LanCity broadband stuff. I think NT ownership is now 75%, or higher, of Arris. ANTC owns the rest. ANTC also got a nice revenue boost to their earnings (Q1) via the Bay City stuff NT turned over to Arris.

Mike what is more important, is that TCI (yes another important player in the game) has a stake in ANTC. ANTC is the exclusively supplier of all Cornerstone (Arris's cable telephony equipment) products for the United States. So when AT&T bought TCI, this made ANTC a strong buy for me!

Like Denver said, it's complicated but was well worth digging up the details for. All the relationships are spelled out extremely well in a post from way, way back. And the recent stuff regarding NT turning over LanCity (previously owned by Bay Networks, I think?) assets to Arris is recent news.

Very interesting ties going on. But the bottom line is(IMHO), there are a lot of reasons to own ANTC if AT&T goes through with their HFC plans. All current indications are, it's going well.
