No, just medieval-type of war: switching sides is customary depending on both short- and long-term interests of the parties involved.

As for Albania, there TWO major tribes, THREE religions (Roman-Catholic in the North, Eastern Orthodox in the South and majority Moslem in Central Albania and Kosovo - the Bekshtazi Sect which is a form more liberal than Sunni of Shiite forms). Within these framework, the local clan chiefs (used to be called "Beys" under the Ottomans) make their own deals. // CA
