He says the technology is doomed to fail. Well, he says a lot. And not everything he says is either correct or comes to pass. Nonetheless, I do think fiber is the technology of the future for terrestrial networks. But to compare QWST vs ORB is to compare apples and oranges. I hold both, but for different reasons. ORB is basically a launch services and satellite manufacturing company, in that order. Their entry into LEO comm and imaging constellations are, IMO, slated for spinoffs in the future. And as far as the prognosis for low-cost space-based comm systems, it's pretty hard to run a fiber into a truck, other mobile systems, or into a rural area. There is room for both technologies.
