I'm very new to P&F and am in need of help. This thread seems filled with people who have a really solid knowledge of P&F and I would greatly appreciate any wisdom that you care to share. Here's my quandary: the NYSE Bull % isn't strongly bearish, but it's also not bullish. Various sectors have just given Bull Confirmed (Real Estate at 32%, Precious Metals at 38%) while others are Bear Confirmed (Europe at 62%, Internet at 40%). Since the overall market trend is in doubt, is there any reason to be trading right now? While the NYSE Bull % is the major indicator, are there times when it may be prudent to put more emphasis on a particular sector, or is one to just wait and see what the NYSE does? Or, since it is in a Bear Correction, does it make sense to follow the sectors that are on the same status?

Taking the market and sector into account before considering a particular stock is a new way of evaluating for me. Even though Tom Dorsey's book is very clear, I'm still having a hard time figuring out just what to do.

Thanks for any help.
