You already use Linux ... Have you ever surfed the World Wide Web? Heard of HotMail? Did you see the movies "Titanic" and "The Matrix"? The OS doesn't matter to me. My next computer may be an Apple Powerbook. I just want one that doesn't crash or give me error messages. Linux has never given me an ounce of grief. I'm running XFree86 as a GUI right now on Linux and to me it looks just like Windows. When I upgrade to a newer version I'll probably use the KDE desktop. It looks just like the AIX desktop I use at work. kde.org Linux is extremely robust. The power comes from the open source model which gives individuals and companies the source code to modify as they see fit. Microsoft uses it for Hotmail. There are way too many flavors of Windows. You don't see 32-node clusters of Windows NT. Linux is so good ... people don't even know they're using it. And that's the true test of a great OS. Linux ... here today and here to stay. Microsoft has changed its core mission from providing a personal computer on every desktop in every home, Mossberg said, referring to the company's recent reorganization.
