me no worry on TBond yield for stocks from this point onward during 1999, I expect all economic data to contradict the inept report of GDP strength by hack statisticians at the Bureau of Labor Stats... it is near constant qtr to qtr... sure it is strong, but not as strong as reported... suspect even their durable goods numbers are wrong high... they ALL have seasonality multipliers involved, and they are ALL wrong a really mild Q2 GDP reported in three months will quiet the credit markets... next econ reports in about a month check last year 1998 for may, june, july, august and see that data was docile... it will be docile again in 1999... the wrinkle this year is diverted budgets for y2k projects... gotta hurt productivity, but help GDP maybe I should set aside some Q profits and buy some June TBond futures, then Sept TBond futures, long of course, long as hell... Bonneville Salt Flats are beautiful this time of year... the nonsense rise in TBond yield will end soon... benefit comes throughout the summer when bond market momentum builds and stocks enjoy the ride... but yields will be driven too low as it overcompensates, setting stock market up for another early autumn or late summer sharp decline best guess for Aug1st long bond yield: 5.2% / jim
