John, PMS??? What was I thinking, ha! I meant to say GPM, ha!

Also my reference to Chevron is not entirely correct. Actually Chevron spun off all of its NGL plants to a separate company called Warren Petroleum.....

BTW- any of you ever been to the Rattlesnake Bomber Base? It is one of a series of air bases built in WWII in west Texas to train military pilots. We stopped by the old military relict today after inspecting a Nabors Top Drive Rig outnear Pyote, Texas just to check it out. (The Nabors Rig was in excellent shape as is usual for Nabors Drilling). Unbelievably in the old hangar (roof now collapsed) where they serviced the B-17's during WWII, there were three huge 15' x 30' murals painted by servicemen circa 1942-43 on the walls of the main hangar entirely intact, if a bit faded....

One beautiful mural has the US flag with burning smoke behind it- at the bottom is written "Remember December 7th". At the top is painted the old Roosevelt speech phrase "We herby resolve that these shall not have died in vain".

Another mural has a sad cocker spaniel with a tear in its eye and whose head is draped over a coffin which is covered by US Naval Air emblem. Emblazoned above the dog is the gold star given to families who lost a family member in WWII Service, and the caption painted on this picture reads "Because the wrong words were spoken..." Wow! Talk about walking back into a time warp!

Then I walked the weed strewn runway- at the far end (it was a very windy day in west Texas today) I saw the tail fin of a dummy 250-lb practice bomb had been uncovered in the drifting sand,,,

But the best for last... In awe of this place we entered an old buildingnear the Main Hangar that must have been the Mess Hall. We pondered the enlisted Mens' Mess Hall for a minute or two and then crossed over to a smaller room attached thereto which must have been the Officers' Mess. The windows had been boarded up, but a hole had been punched low in one of the boards which let in a little light , I walked down the length of the mess hall in medium darkness toward the far end of the hall where another stairway went down, always looking downward keeping an eye peeled for rattlesnakes. Unbeknownst to me a rather large owl has made the abandoned Mess Hall its roost and was sitting perpendicular to me on the old railing perfectly hidden from my view as I approached it head down not looking up.

Well lost in thought I came within about three feet of this large owl. It panicked and took off directly over me scaring the bejeebers out of me- and also doing what all birds do when frightened themselves, he crapped- all over me as he took off, ha!

Man what a mess! Covered with partially digested field mice.. Just another day in the oil industry, ha!
