I read Troopers a LONG time ago and just watched the movie the other day. Can't say I remember the book being that way, so I think I'll re-read it again one of these days. Must admit the movie was fun to watch though.

I recommend the re-read; I suspect that you will get a lot out of it. The movie does serve to develop vivid imagery for the story in the book -- they did a nice job on the "bugs", for the most part.

Philosophically, however, they completely lost the point.
