That kind of conduct is inexcusable under any circumstances, extenuating or otherwise. Some people think I am too zealous but I make a point of trying to keep SI from turning into another set of Yahoo boards. I may swear like a sailor at my PC; I don't type all that on the screen on SI. Fortunately I have no relation to Ed except as another SI member. Also, I grew up down the road in Dallas and wouldn't use the term back there under any circumstances. I believe that it still means a lot to people who were on the wrong end of it. If Ed is reading this, it tells me much more about him than it does about whoever it was aimed at.
