1. Hemosol's product is not derived from animal sources.
2. NFLD should be close to completing their phase III trials. I've tried numerous times to contact them, however, they have not answered my questions.
3. There was a news release that Baxter had purchased a company last year, who was working on a blood substitute. If you do a search with Yahoo, using "blood substitute", you should be able to find that news release.
