I fully agree. I seem to (vaguely) remembering the "drop" onto the planet. Didn't they wear a specialized armoured suit ... or something like that. I remember being riveted on that drop.

Oh well. I will definitely reread it. I'm in the midst of rereading (after many years again) the Dune series. It's making A LOT more sense to me this time around.
