WHG,
The option quotes that I get via DBC Signal I believe come from OPRA. I have noticed about a 5 minute delay on the time and sales prints, but as for the actual quotes the delay is probably about less than a minute. When I am following either the OEX or a specific stock for an option entry, I always check with Browns quotes on their website to confirm price or call a trader. Following the OEX with about 20 current month strikes of both puts and calls, I just look for how the different options are trading in correlation to the general market trend and each other, I usually buy or sell ATM (at the money strikes) on the OEX. In trading these, I have to be able to put on my trade prior to an intraday reversal happening. I use a tick chart of the OEX for looking at support and resistance, that I have timed and its good data, also the other market index data I have found to be good,TICK,TRIN,PREM etc. For equities, following the underlying stock and how it is trading can give me enough info on which strike to enter whether its for an intraday play or a swing trade. I do know that its not the best data system, but its ok for now. Now if something could only be done about those specialists backing away from a larger size entry. OEX and stocks like IBM have plenty of liquidity in their options so thats what I trade the most, but others I have had problems with. My biggest quest now is the search for better bandwidth over the net, it will probably help out in not missing some data packets.
Good Trading
