CYTOGEN Reports First Profitable Quarter And Announces Strategic Emphasis on Prostate Disease
PRINCETON, N.J., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- CYTOGEN Corporation (Nasdaq: CYTO - news) today reported its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 1999. The Company achieved a net profit of $1.7 million, the first profitable quarter in the Company's reporting history, resulting from a combination of a $3.3 million gain from the sale of its laboratory and manufacturing facilities, a reduction of $4.5 million in operating expenses in the first quarter of 1999 compared to the same period in the previous year, together with continuing revenues from product sales. First quarter 1999 earnings per share were $0.03, compared to a net loss of $0.08 per share for the comparable period in 1998.
