John I hate to disappoint you but if SWS got GS shares on the IPO they had to sell them to customers. They could not keep them for SWS. There was an article in the journal that GS allocated stock to many firms but actually placed the stock themself. I would assume SWS got paid as if they sold them to cudtomers but GS placed the stock.
