National News Agency of the UK and Ireland to be Available to NewsEdge Customers World Wide
BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1999--NewsEdge Corporation (Nasdaq:NEWZ - news), the leading independent provider of global news and current awareness solutions for business, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the Press Association (PA), the UK's national news agency, to distribute news, politics, financial and sports stories to NewsEdge subscribers world-wide. As a result, NewsEdge customers now have the option of including news from PA in the range of news sources they already receive on their corporate intranets.
The Press Association is at the heart of the UK's media industry, delivering a continuous stream of stories, alerts and data into the newsrooms of leading newspapers, broadcasters and electronic publishers.
PA sets the news agenda minute-by-minute, providing information ranging from UK and foreign news to the latest from the worlds of sport and entertainment; from in-depth coverage of parliament and politics to the latest health news and technology stories; and from the business and finance sectors to the latest sports and weather information.
British American Tobacco (BAT) is among a number of NewsEdge customers already signed up to receive news from PA directly to their network.
