Something 'unscientific' that I noticed.. Usually when an earnings plays 'pop' or even just triggers a buy signal, there are signs beforehand. GEEK has been 'stirring' for days and yesterday really looked good but not quite a buy signal. CBXC and PERC both were looking good yesterday but also on Tuesday when the NASDAQ was down. MACR was stirring very well on Wednesday and triggered a clear buy signal, although it really was awful on Tuesday. ERTS has not had a good chart pattern in a while, but started to stir just 2 days before earnings and had about an extra 1 point gap up this morning.

To put it another way, if a stock has no anticipation, chances are it will be a dud. In our 28 earnings plays for this week only 2 never triggered a buy signal.. They were RCNC and GVA.. 26 others did trigger, and I just don't have the time or inclination to "post the average return" that the other gentleman wanted a few days ago. If anyone is interested its on the thread..
