bearcub--I spoke to Mr. Sewer again yesterday. I gave him some info re: percentage of y2k budget spent to date from the 10-Qs and the latest 10-K for one of his power providers. I believe he was surprised at what I discovered re: their "progress" as reported in the SEC documentation versus the glowing Year 2000 statement as posted on their website. I asked when was the last time the metro sewer district was off-line for any length of time. He told me back in 1976, three days after an ice storm, a lineman fried himself and the utility went off-line for about three hours to determine what caused the problem. "So you've had no real experience with a prolonged power outage?" I ask. "Uh, no," he responds. "You've been lucky...so far," I comment.

We discussed some other sewage issues. I gotta give him credit. He was very candid. The upshot is that I believe I planted some seed of doubt in his mind. He was much less haughty this time around. I ain't done with him yet.
