SAMMAN: I tried BBAnds and returned to Jerry's envelopes- I use 21 wma with 5% and 13% bands above and below 21wma- this gives me a grid to look at stock with- Somehow I can relate to it better than Bolinger Bands. WIth regard to Std deviations- there is a std dev indicator in WOW which can give you tightness f bands in a separate window.
here's an alert I played with at one time:
alertmarker(100*std(c,21,1)/(hhv(c,144)-llv(c,144)) < 5)

one std deviation based on 21 day period is less than 5 percent of the difference between historc high and low. You can vary the percentage and play with it.
