There's a difference. Intel already said from the get-go that the 550 MHz part will be available in May. When AMD introduced the K6-III at 450 MHz, I don't recall them ever saying when it would actually be available.

All this arguing over semantics really means nothing, though. Even the 500 MHz K7 will be very scarce and low-volume for a long time. What does that tell us about the availability of 550 and 600 MHz parts even after the introduction?

All this talk is just over bragging rights, and as we all know, AMD loves to brag without showing the money.
