<< Regardless of what you claim, your perspective comes accross as very anti-muslim and "extremely" biased. >> This is your ultimate weapon! If I dare ope my lips, to discuss any issue, I am immediately branded as an "anti-muslim" bigot. Your basic argument is that even though Islam is perfect, Moslems like any other group of people have comitted their share of atrocities and sins. Then why are you so adamant about defending the virtue of Soddis? I know, if I were to bring some irrefutable facts about their "excesses" you would immediately label me a "bigot" and revert back to your "there's bad apples in every barrel" themesong... << I said God delivered scripture clearly forbidding it 1400 years ago. >> (I got curious, so I used a search engine to come up with a quran website). umr.edu
Look under the topic "slaves". No mention of prohibition I am afraid. Its hard for me to judge whether you are misinformed or intend o mislead.
Another thing that annoys me about your argument is that you take your wife's PhD as a triumph of Islam but all the hundreds of millions of Islamic women suffering under a repressive society as failure on the part of "islamic people" and not Islam.Excuse me, but this guarantees that you can NEVER lose an argument!
<< So, you are saying if I go out and have detailed discussions with people about Christianity say, In Afganistan or Arabia and read a few of their books on the subject, I would become an unbiased authority on the subject. >>
Actually you would get as close to an "authority" as you probably ever could. Lets face it, the folks who come to a US graduate school are the best and the brightest of the country. If they can't express their point of view(as Moslems), the cab driver in Demscous or the camel driver in downtown Cairo certainly can't! |
