Neal,

You are right, there really isn't anyone in the same technology
class as Intel. IBM is the only other one that is even close.
Intel's IP (Intellectual Property) in the IC process area is
significant and their future success will be tied to how much of
a lead that they will maintain over the "poor folks" like AMD.
Right now, that lead is about one generation (2 years) in technology.
With the financial clout and IC process technology advantage, AMD
doesn't have a chance.
