Oooops. Sorry. I'm better now. Even though I just missed me mouth and slopped fruit juice all down the front of my clean shirt, I'm OK. OK? We're just a LEETLE easily stressed around here.

It is a good example of when stress has been built into a person by events or medicine ~ the difference between that and how they might react otherwise. The real thing. Yall are getting to see, first hand, a case of medically induced quasi-insanity. (No complaints if the alternative is literally death, right?) It is also kind of amazing, because one of the specific things I was training myself to do earlier in life (imho, pretty successfully) was to dissociate myself from events. Turn up calm and smiling as close to all of the time as possible. You can see why these reactions, the real anger, surprises me.

I don't just attribute this to stress failure (although I think some of its effects can be permanent) ~ I attribute the most substantial part of it to corticosteroids. Yah. Honest. I wasn't always this way, and I may never get better. My first psychiatrist told me I would not, and that it would be best to protect myself, by moving to a better climate and retiring.

I asked him for the money. Hee hee.

He billed me.

Spouse found a blurb in the Sunday paper, where Eugenia Zukerman says prednisone ".....can have terrible side effects.....psychological effects such as panic attacks or depression."

My medical comment on that, is, "No shit." If it will kill your bones chances are it can mess with your nervous system. I mean, if it wants to. You know.

I think it wanted to. I can't overrule it yet with will-power.

Gotta go back to the freeway. Oh boy! Where's my automatic?
