Re: 550's and high end.

I agree that they will sell every PIII 500/550 they can make and every Celeron 466 as well.

I guess the only problem is likely to be the PIII 450 as it is priced 2x the faster Celeron 466.

From a margin perspective Intel should be OK as long as the binsplits favor high end. Perhaps you or Paul can answer that. Is the sweetspot 500Mhz and above??

For AMD of course it is not good news as their 50% point is around 433Mhz at best.

PS K6-2 400's are below $90 now at pricewatch so OEM price is probably in the $70-75 range.
