Let the CE crowd rush into settops. I'm buying more WRS. I see WRS providing much better solutions than CE:

- able to use cheaper hardware
- much more design specific for controllers
- less "standards" hassle of CE and Redmond's software police
- no exterior branding; "Wind Invisible" should be the motto
- less engineers; hey, the old adage goes that more engineers
make more code. Did Microsoft ever hear of bloatware?
- WRS solutions are better cross compiler ready than CE
- potential for control by smaller companies

But more to the point - bringing the internet to households will open a plethora of new devices and RTOS applications to run everything from the sprinklers to attic fans to sump pumps to coffee machines to robots to play with the dog, etc. In fact, this is not the internet, but rather home intranet. This stuff about CE invading the horizion is simply fear of the MSFT hegomony. If there is anything to fear it is a bidding war for WRS when people wake up and realize that CE won't cut it.

So let CE come, let PalmOS come, let MacOs come, and 98/NT, Linux, Unix, and all others. They'll create the need for small appliances which are suited for WRS embedded RTOS. And the market explodes. And our royalties too. IMO.
