How did the tornadoes compare with Hurricane Andrew(?) in Florida a few years ago? I think no comparison. Tornado outbreaks will hurt the local insurer in the area if he is not properly reinsured, which frequently happens. They can also hit the cat cover reinsurers, if they are insufficiently diversified geographically. They do not have a particularly acute effect on the super-cat level, I believe.

I don't think this is a material issue for BRK, but of course the only way to know for sure is to see their treaties--and those are private!
