If Lorne has made an unqualified apology, I must have missed it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, to buy and sell at what ever their comfort level is, and to declare their positions. In essence, I would be the first to support free speech and open debate on just about any matter--there is a line, however and most people know where it is by experience, common courtisy, or by education. If you were falsely accused of something and had no opportunity to confront or even reply to the allegations, I'm sure that you would perceive that to be extremely unfair and potentially devastating. If the allegations came from a widely recognized idiot or pathological liar they would probably be ignored. However, our friend Lorne wants to come off as something different entirely. He is a well educated man and not nearly as "light" as he appears to be. He first appeared on the thread to worry everyone about Aber's frivolous, vexacious, and spurious lawsuit. He claimed that he was posting here because some "Winspear" posters has alerted the Aber thread of the situation and suggested that there might well be negative implications for them. When confronted about his plentiful postings on the Winspear thread he then claimed that he just might be a Winspear shareholder and that he was entitled to post whatever he wanted, true, false or off topic. While continuing to post negative comments and worry Winspear shareholders, all the while pumping Aber for all it might have been worth, he was dumping his Aber and buying Winspear. More recently he was criticizing and labeling anyone who discussed the potential value of the Snap Lake deposit as hypesters and potentially ill motivated scam artists. He was also portending to put words in other peoples mouths, assuming that he could speak for myself without license etc. etc. When confronted, he does not apologize, he simply sidesteps and tries a different angle. He will in the same breath say that he is long, and really likes the geology etc. and then turn around and launch an all out attack on the honesty and credibility of the management team. When confronted, he makes qualified apologies, and even when admitting that there was no basis for the original statements, tries to slip in a few more jabs. Reminds me of a vindictive ex who tells the children--well maybe your father did not murder uncle Henry and put him in the freezer, but I wouldn't put it past him. And as annoying as JP and the Vulture gang was that hung around all winter trying to talk the stock into the ground, there was a certain amount of transparency to their intentions. There is something about a shareholder-or one who claims that he is a shareholder, who gets up in the morning and says "hmm I think I will get on the internet and trash my stock this morning," that bothers me worse. Much more subtle than your average shorter or paid slimer. And while doing all of the above, Lorne likes to take the "moral" ground and acuse others of pumping and then pretends offense when someone accusing him of doing the opposite. |
