Response from IR.....
Richard -
I apologize for the delayed response. All of your suggestions have been sent to MDMI, and they are currently working on several new approaches. You must remember that MDMI is a 14+ year old bakery, and they must focus on this core business to keep the revenue flowing in. I will attempt to respond to your questions, and I urge you to call me on our 800# and leave a phone number and a time that would be best for me to contact you.
1) MDMI uses a service called Submit It - which I believe is one of the top services for attracting surfers to web sites. This process does not take place overnight, and in many cases can take between 6 months to 2 years. Obviously it is in everyone's interest to get MDMI's presence (inclusive of Java Centrale) know on the Internet, and I can assure you that Dana Verrill is extremely competent and seasoned in achieving this. I myself am rather new to the Internet and the specific workings of metatags, spidering and other forms of registering web sites with search engines. Dana has assured me during several recent conference calls that this issue is being addressed, and I would like to reiterate that ALL suggestions from ANY shareholders are being reviewed.
2) MDMI is currently working on a newly revised advertisement and Internet campaign that we expect to be released over the next 30 days. This will include a considerablly larger presence for Java Centrale on the Internet. There is a massive amount of support that must accompany this. That would include proper inventory and accounting so that the company doesn't falter in its delivery of any services. This is not simply a matter of designing a web site and making it well known to users of the World Wide Web. I hope that you can appreciate the attention to detail that Dana demands (reminder: Dana has proven his mgmt ability with other entitites, inclusive of Spectrum Technologies, another Public Company which Dana drove from zero to several hundred million in anual revenue, and also holds the record for the most number of shares ever traded on any given day).
3) Once again, MDMI is reviewing all opportunities associated with the Internet, and refues to make any split second decisions, nor spend any additional money on projects that are scheduled for revamping. MDMI, as well as La Guardia have long term outlooks for the company, and have choosen to move carefully and prudently, often times this requires patience. I think this directly answers item "a" in your e-mail, as MDMI has a presence on the Internet and an e-commerce presence that is simply the beginning to many more things to come. Currently the BuyMDMI.com web site is serving as an information tool for investors, a source of corp information and a link to the iChargeit.com e-commerce site where coffee and other products may be purchased. As to item "b", yes you are correct and once again, all of these issues are currently being addressed and the proper web sites being designed for specific purposes. Item "c" once again Richard, these things take time, money and energy to be accomplished properly. MDMI has plans to sell every product they have under their umbrella over the Internet, provided it makes monetary sense to do so. Fresh bakery products cannot be easily shipped, but I will add that several options are being reviewed. As to item "d", many of the clients that MDMI has do not have web-sites. MDMI has been working on development sites for many of these clients and once this is accomplished links back to MDMI and their family of web sites will be placed on each and everyone. This is a time consuming process which is costly and cannot be accomplished overnight.
4) The Atlanta market is being reviewed and opened, and potential bakery acquistions have been identified. It is my understanding that World Bar will be purchasing bakery products only from MDMI. This will be accomplished by weekly or semi-weekly shipments to the Atlanta area via tractor-trailer from Dallas, in the same way that product is currently shipped to Southern California.
Bawls - The Bawls agreement is EXACTLY as it was defined in the PR. There is no mention of Georgia because it was not part of the agreement. Had Georgia been a part of the agreement it would have obviously appeared in the PR. If MDMI had arranged to distribute throughout the southeast that would have been stated in the PR as well, vs. the states in which MDMI has recieved distribution rights. I do not know why you would think that MDMI would have "left out" anything that was available for public release.
Richard, there are many great things that can, may and will be announced by MDMI in the upcoming months, but a business is not built overnight. I would like to say that your suggestions and comments are more than welcome and are not falling on deaf ears. La Guardia is growing and the Internet is a new market for us. I would urge you to continue making suggestions and constructive criticism, and I promise you that we will continue to better our relationships with MDMI's investors. We have received clearance from our attorney, and will be registered on SI today, and begin responding to questions via that medium.
Once again, I want to personally thank you for your time and persistence, and invite you and any other shareholders to query us as often as is necessary.
Sincerely,
Phil Hernandez Public Relations La Guardia GFS |
