Hi Folks, I'm not a regular on this thread. But just thought I'd toss out a question. Anyone remember this?
EchoStar Communications Corp., Gateway Collaborate on New Digital Satellite Technology for Destination XTV
DISHLink TV System to Deliver Digital Satellite Television Signal
Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 7, 1999 -- Gateway (NYSE: GTW), a leading convergence technology provider, has announced a strategic relationship with the EchoStar Communications Corp. (NASDAQ: DISH, DISHP) and its DISH Network to jointly develop an integrated digital satellite receiver for Gateway's convergence line of PCs. Gateway and EchoStar will be demonstrating the new integrated satellite receiver, DISHLink, on the Destination XTV at the 1999 Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES), EchoStar booth #6011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 7-10.
Well, from what I am told this evening, the entire thing has completely fallen through. The contacts at DISH maintain that it was GTW that backed out. GTW CSRs can't comment except to confirm that the deal is off. I've also posted to the DISH thread. Curious as to what happened? |
