I know there aren't thousands of people following this thread, but I wonder how many people here are presently using cable modem or DSL from home for access. This is why I wonder:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/headlines/technology/zdnet/story.html?s=n/zdnet/technology/19990506/199905061208

Now, I'm sitting out here in Iowa, the middle of nowhere, yet I've got my new iMac hooked up to @Home's cable modem service. Cost? $150 for one-time installation, $40/month. I was paying $20/month for my 56k connection, in addition to $15/month for an additional phone line. The cable is EASILY worth another $5/month.

This isn't an ad for @Home. I'm only trying to figure out if it's REALLY going to take as long for broadband to hit as they say it is in this article.

Anyone else here on cable or DSL from home?

Mark
